Care & Welfare
Care and Welfare
The safety, care and welfare of our students are extremely important to us at all times of the day and night.
Before a student leaves their own country, Brooke House gives parents information packs with details of the care and welfare arrangements that we have for our students. We want parents to feel confident and happy that their child is in the best care possible while they are away from home.
The campus and student houses are supervised at all times of the day and night by our residential staff. Excursions and activities are always planned, organised and risk assessed for safety. There is always one adult to every fifteen students during activities and excursions.
During excursions there are periods of free time (1 - 2 hours) either supervised or unsupervised. Students aged 14 years or older, with parental permission, can have free time in groups of friends. Students aged 10 - 13 years old are supervised by Activity (or Group) Leaders at all times.
The college has a registered nurse available Monday - Friday, during office hours, to look after students when they are sick and will arrange doctor and hospital appointments for any students if needed. In addition to the nurse, a number of residential staff, teachers and senior staff are trained in First Aid. Brooke House College will contact parents to inform them when their child is sick or needs medical attention.
General information for parents can be found in our Notes for Parents document below. We encourage parents to read this information and to contact us if they have any additional questions.
Please ensure that the following details have been sent to us at [email protected] as soon as possible, or at the latest, four weeks prior to the student's arrival.
- Parental Consent Form (all students) - Please send within 3 months of your child's arrival date
- Student Phone Number (all students)
